Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening
An Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) is a potentially life threatening condition, with the highest risk group being males over the age of 65. Screening can help spot a swelling in the aorta early on when it can be treated. The screening consists of a painless, non-invasive ultrasound scan.

In England, appointment letters are automatically sent to men during the year they turn 65. Men aged 66+ can refer themselves for AAA screening.

Bowel Cancer Screening
NHS bowel cancer screening checks if you could have bowel cancer. It’s available to everyone aged 60 or over and 56 year olds. If you’re within the screening age range and have not yet received your first test kit,

Breast Cancer Screening
To have screening you have an x-ray of your breast called a mammogram. Breast screening is for women between the ages of 50 and 70, it is also for some trans or non-binary people. You should get a letter with your results within 2 weeks.

Cytology – (Smears)
Cervical screening is available to women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64 in England. All eligible people who are registered with a GP (as female) automatically receive an invitation by mail.
